This page contains information about a number of personal audio-related projects that I've developed over the past few years, or am currently working on.

Atomic Cloud

The Atomic Cloud Grain Cloud Generator takes an audio file as input, and generates a granular synthesis grain cloud in real time. Grain clouds are played back through your speakers, and can also be rendered direct to disk, while you listen, for further processing. [Read More]

Sound Borb

Sound Borb is an audio ambience generating system. The generative nature of Sound Borb's audio engine means that once you hit play, the ambience you're listening to will never end. It will never go to the next track. It will never loop. If you want to listen to the ocean, you can listen to the ocean from now until your electricity goes out. Various ambiences are available for download on the download page, and you can also create your own and post them for download here, if you're so inclined. [Read More]

VST: More Pressure Mastering Compressor

Using a technique called upward compression, More Pressure increases the level of quiet portions in a mix without reducing the level of attack transients like a traditional compressor. There are just 3 main parameters: Amount of compression, look-ahead, and gain control. If you want to really get freaky, you can use the "tweak" controls. It couldn't be easier. [Read More]

VST: Pressure Mastering Compressor

Have you ever wanted a mastering compresssor that was dead-easy to use? A compressor that just made things louder without having to worry about the best Ratio, Attack, and Release settings for a specific task? A compressor that didn't over-compress attack transients, robbing your track of all the excitement of explosive hits? A compressor that was downright freaky looking? [Read More]

VST: Tom Pong

Tom Pong is a ping pong delay VST Plugin. Windows only. A ping pong delay is a delay which alternates from one speaker to another. If the balance is set to 0.5, a stereo signal will invert itself each time the delay buffer is played back. If the balance is set to either side of 0.5, the signal bounces back and forth between the speakers. Tom Pong can be synced to the host sequencer, or delay times can be set by sample count. Feedback and output level are also adjustable. [Read More]

Splat

Splat is a free sound effects database, designed for musicians or sound designers that have a lot of high sample rate and high bit depth audio files scattered across their computer. The audio file reading is done by libsndfile (the same thing that Audacity, Supercollider, and a bunch of other apps use), so it's able to open and play back a dizzying array of file types and formats. Playback of the sounds is very quick, so it's easy to browse through a bunch of files. Unfortunately no .mp3 or .ogg playback support yet, although you can still add those files to the database. VST: Mr. Mono

Click to Download

So simple it's stupid, this VST just takes a stereo signal, mixes it together, and spits the mono-ized mix back out. It seems like there has to be something like this already out there, but I couldn't find it, and making my own was quicker than looking. [Read More]

Mr. White

Mr. White responds to MIDI Note-On and Note-Off events, and generates white noise. That's all. Why? Sometimes I want white noise for something, and I got tired of using a .wav file. Enjoy. [Read More]
