 The ADT technique was developed at Abbey Road Studios by engineers recording the Beatles in the 1960s. To free John Lennon from having to sing everything twice for real double tracking they came up with an artificial replacement: they sent the original signal to another tape machine and re-recorded it. Due to the physical distance between record and playback heads the new signal was delayed. The length of the delay depends on the tape speed (the slower the tape is running the longer it takes for the signal to travel from the record to the playback head). However, due to the machine's (small amounts of) Wow and Flutter the delay time was not fixed but varied slightly, giving an additional chorus-like effect.
The ADT Plug-In takes a mono input signal and creates a stereo output. The original input signal will be output on one channel, the new ADT signal on the other. Blending the two is also possible. The Plug-In allows to control the delay time (10 - 50ms), Wow and Flutter (both with intensity in % and frequency). All values are based on the technical data of the tape machines that was originally used to create this effect. |

Maximize knob is used to control the level of incoming signal.
- Character (0.01 ~ 1 / 0.01 steps)
Character knob can be used to control the speed of attack and release value, for fast music with fast transient set this parameter at small value (0.02 - 0.3). For general type of music, 0.5 should be fine.
- Output (-20 ~ 0 dB / 0.1 dB steps)
Output knob is used to control the volume of the signal that passes the limiting stage. Set this parameter at -0.1 dB to -0.3 dB for a save audio master (mastering).
- 2 speed types (Normal and Fast)
Normal or Fast are types of limiting stage. Use Fast mode for a very fast music such as punk, metal or anything similar. Use Normal mode to keep the music dynamic but don't forget to set the Character knob properly.

How To operate
There are 8 instances of the generating part. Pulse is the actual sounding beats, space is the space between the pulses. Speed is how fast they come, 0 is 4th 1 is 8th's etc. Note is the MIDI note that the algorithm spews out.
How you actually make it work in your host is up to you to find out. Remember that Eckel sends MIDI note on and off's. |

 Edge is a subharmonic synth, which in lay man's speak means that if you feed it audio the resulting output will be your audio plus extra low bass.
Unlike most bass enhancers, it doesn't just boost the bass or shape the lower frequencies. What it does is takes the input signal and creates a bass signal one (or even two) octaves lower than the original.
Because not every signal is a simple sine wave, there is input filtering which effectively gives the plugin a more simple waveform to process. It's free, so why not give it a go? |

 faderratic brings you cross-fading of 2 stereo inputs, but with a mind of its own and a ton of options to change the fade shape, length, limits, frequency and probability. faderratic works by generating a pulse on a tempo-sync frequency, and depending on the probability it may trigger a cross-fade event.  GNormal tries to remedy denormal problems by introducing extremely low-level noise to the signal path. (If you don't know what that means, then you probably don't need it).
Some CPUs employ techniques to extend the accuracy of floating-point calculations for very small numbers. These small numbers are called denormals.
Unfortunately, calculations involving denormals can be very slow. This can drastically affect audio DSP performance. In most cases, these numbers are too small to be of any interest anyway.
Adding noise to the signal path can sometimes prevent denormals from getting into subsequent calculations. Obviously, the noise-level used is so low that you cannot hear it. |

 Groove Analogizer is an "audio controlled drum synthesizer", it means that like a vintage electronic drum tone generator (e.g. Simmons) the percussion sound is triggered by an audio input, not by a MIDI message. This also means that you must not load, in the host, Groove Analogizer as a VST instrument, it loads as a VST effect, usually in an insert slot.
But it's really a synth: the sound of three oscillators is triggered and shaped by the audio input in many ways. |

 HGS WAV Recorder is a simple plugin that performs a single role, recording the incoming signal directly to a WAV. It can be used either in an Insert or as a Send Effect. The Sound output can either be direct through, Muted or the Recorded Signal to ensure maximum flexibility. It is a useful plugin for recording spontaneous improvisations, or providing realtime record functionality in Hosts which do not support this directly.
Each WAV is named by the date/time the recording was started so there is no danger of recording over any existing wavs and all are sorted by date. The Recording Folder is configurable via a text file which can be directly opened via the plugin at any time in notepad. After changing the path, clicking on update will create the new directory (if needed) and the next wav will be recorded in that location.
WAV Recorder is free, but donations are always appreciated if you find the plugin useful.

 - CC Value Limiter: Choose a CC to limit within a certain range. Multi Channel Key Range / Transpose.
- CC Controlled (or not) MIDI Transposer: It acts on any channel, and when on, any CC assigned to increase/decrease transpose will be filtered.
- CC Time Blocker: Some buggy MIDI controllers will send more than just a 127 and a 0 value when you don't want, this is to prevent any clandestine CC to get thru, which otherwise would ruin, for example, tempo tapping. When enabled, only one message of the CC you specify (and only the values 127 or 0 get thru) will be allowed within the defined time period.
-CC64 Emulator: Just a test tool, instead of sending the CC64 (sustain) out, it will filter it and mimic its effect with note on/offs.
- CC Inverter: Inverts a CC's value (i.e. if it's 127, it will become 0), this is aimed at inverted sustain pedals, some older controllers don't have the option to reverse the polarity.
- Aftertouch To CC: Remaps aftertouch/channel pressure to the desired CC.
- MIDI Random Note Delay: introduces a configurable random delay on every note on message, up to 200ms (which is clearly too much). For example, to provoke slight timing drifts in layered instruments of a brass section.
- CC-Controlled Channel Switcher: Define an origin channel, a destination channel, and a CC to change the routing from original->dest. For that CC's value <= 64: originalChannel. For that CC's value > 64: originalChannel->destCh. Note: any MIDI message except note on's from the original channel will always be doubled into the destination channel as well, this is to prevent any surprises.
- Velocity-Controlled Channel Switcher: Instead of a CC, any velocity value above the specified trigger will change the note's channel. Except this difference, all the rest from above applies.
- VST Metronome: A very simple metronome for practicing purposes, outputs audio or MIDI "ticks" (configurable channel/notes), can be run synchronously or asynchronously with the host's tempo.
- Chord Note-Channel-Switcher: J made this for making brass section chords. If you only play one note, the original channel will go thru unchanged. When 2 or 3 notes are played at the same time, the original channel will be routed to the ones defined for low/mid/high notes. Since in real life you'll never hit the two/three notes in the same exact instant, the algorithm calculates the lower / mid / higher notes each time a note on message is received, so if you have already pressed two keys and press the third one later, the ones that are not according to the new low/mid/high calculation will be "noted-off", the channel change will be made, and new note-ons will be sent again. |

These are created by superimposing the frequency-envelope of one signal (the so called analysis- or modulatorsignal) on a second signal (the so called synthesis- or carriersignal).  The major sketch pad is basically a step sequencer combined with a chorder. Each time it gets triggered by a midi note the step sequencer steps forward and each step can contain a new, different chord. The chords aren't locked to a predefined pitch.  Memory is an effect which allows you to sample and remix your beats or other material on the fly. It works by allowing you to loop the input it recieves and also change the length of the loop. To use the Memory, it's best to set it up as an inline effect (or as a 100% wet send). Just start playing some input into it and click on the pad. The pad allows you to control the length of the loop and also the cutoff of a filter on the loop. Pad motions are sent as automated parameters, so you can record those parameters in your track as you would record knob tweaks on any synth. Memory can also be triggered via MIDI notes if your host supports sending notes to effects. The usable MIDI range starts around C2 or C3. Each semitone above that represents a different loop value. |

 This simple plugin lets you reroute MIDI channels. They can be merged or split, or filtered out entirely. Simple, but kinda useful at times. I wrote it because i needed it!
To use, just drag the connectors from left to right. So if your MIDI data is on track 1 and you want it on track 3, then drag the top connector on the left, to the 3rd connector on the right. Each connector can have any number of links. Right click on the connector to get apop up menu which will allow you to break links. |

 There are four MIDI plugins: XYPad, 8LFOs, DrumSeq and StepSeq.
XYPad allows you to control two MIDI ccs at the same time.
8LFOs provides, obviously, 8 LFOs that send on any MIDI cc with various waveforms, syncing and control options.
DrumSeq was made to provide a simple grid edit drum pattern sequencer to make my life a bit easier in Cubasis (kinda fallen by the wayside now that Fruityloops works as a VSTi!). Still handy for controlling drum sampler VSTis like Computer Music's SR202.
StepSeq started off just for creating simple MIDI cc patterns - e.g. for filter hocketing. However, it kinda bloated and got out of hand cos I kept adding options and functions. So now it can also send midi notes (either a set note or you can use a little piano roll :-) ), you can select which patterns are active at any one time and there's a pattern playlist.
There are two versions of each plugin: one works as a VST instrument and the other as an effect. Using either version means you sacrifice one of your VSTi or VST effect slots, but you can always record the midi output once your happy with it and unload the plugin. Exporting the bank will also save the plugin state - so you can reload it all later if needs be.

I intended to provide a set of midi tools to help composition and music generation. I've used the "MIDI gain" example that can be downloaded at musicdsp as a base for the controler mapper. These plugins register themselves as midi sources. With Cubase SX, the Midi tracks have to be set to monitor so that you can receive MIDI.
::STOKASTIK::
A MIDI plugin intended to generate random spaced notes according to a specified random distribution (now exponential only). You can set the maximum duration between 2 notes until 1 second but avoid values around 0 because it will overload your CPU. For now it is monophonic only and never stops outputting MIDI. In the future it should be polyphonic and act as a pseudo arpeggiator. Please give me feedback if you find it useful or if you want me to add new features.
::ENV2MIDI::
This plugin analyses the incoming audio signal to extract its envelope which is converted into MIDI continuous controler. I should add parameters to change the size of the analysis window and the type of enveloppe detection.

This could help people using plugins who doesn't support MIDI learn and/or hardware controlers that haven't presets. Only one controler can be mapped for now.

 Denormalisation is an issue with some audio hosts that don't switch off the plugin's audio task when the song is stopped or a track contains silence (or with instruments: no key is pressed while a sound decays).
The problem happens when the CPU (precisely: the floating point unit (FPU) inside of it) detects extremely small numbers and wishes to process them with the same precision as usual. Then it switches into 'denormal' mode which is another way of representing small floating point numbers with the available bit range.
Converting between the two states takes a lot of time for the FPU and thus might cause heavy load jumps. |

 ..MIDI note recorder, it only records the pitches, and after you turn record off it will play back those notes you recorded, no matter what key you hit, except it uses the gate time/timing and velocity of the notes you are playing real time instead of the recorded notes.  An experiment for my PhD. Consists of a delay line divided into 3 sections - the 3d velocity of a blob in the editor is mapped to 3 read pointers (i.e. x-, y-, and z-axes), 1 in each section. Since there are 4 blobs, there are essentially 4 copies of this process, and the whole thing acts like a granulator with a continually-modulated pitch parameter. The blobs move in a simple attractor orbit � i.e. they orbit around a central point. If you click the editor, the delay line buffer will stop accepting input, and the data currently in the buffer will be stored.
I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but if you leave the plugin running a while, the sound does evolve somehow, moving away from the initial up-down pitch movement towards something a bit more interesting (to me, anyway). |

 PhaseBug's primary function is to shift the phase of an incoming audio signal. This is a critical function in fixing source signals that have phase errors in relation to one another, which can cause inappropriate cancellation or reinforcement of frequencies in a mix.
As part of the testing and correcting procedure, a user will occasionally need to sum the stereo signal to mono, which is the surest way to help isolate phase issues. A useful side effect is that PhaseBug may also be used strictly for this purpose - quickly summing a stereo signal to mono. |

 Phutboyslim is a quick 'n' dirty inline sampler. It is designed to be inserted in the master output fx rack and functions by constantly sampling the last "x" beats of the input signal (your whole mix, usually). When it receives a midi note, it constantly plays back that buffer until the midi note is released, at which point the source material is allowed through again. when threshold is set to 1, the plugin is in LFO mode (tremolo). you can however still restart the lfo with an audio signal at the right input.

Rendering the wav file invokes Chris's command line utility with the user's parameters and a smart-renaming scheme is used for the new sample.

 This is a MIDI effect to implement a sostenuto function for instruments that do not support it directly. Sostenuto is a selective sustain pedal: any notes that are sounding at the moment the pedal is depressed will be sustained for as long as the pedal is down. Playing a sustained note again will retrigger the note, and it will remain sustained.
The usual usage is to hold a chord while still having both hands free to play other notes. Without a sostenuto pedal, you would have to hold the keys down with your face or other appendage. |

It also should send a message to update host BPM but Xt doesn't support this and I have not tested it in other hosts.

Thaw was created as part of a Masters in Music Technology academic project whose aim was to explore the use of the phase vocoder for the creation and manipulation of static and drone sounds.
Thaw can be used for creating a perceptual ’snapshot’ of a sound and then creating drones using a number of effects including a low frequency oscillator and a pitch shifter. |

 MM FX 04 VOCODA is a VST effect. The incoming signal is divided into several bands, analysed and then vocoded with the internal oscillator. The Filter is controlled by a clockable 4step sequencer which syncs to host tempo. The pitch of the internal oscillator can be controlled via MIDI note in ( when the host allows this ) or manual with the PITCH knob
The sonic results of this FX vary from bizarre vocoder-like sounds to extremely lofi weird noises, depending on the input source. This effect does not intend to be a high quality vocoder. |

 Vocovee has no ‘Capture’ sidechain plugin but the latency is small. I recommend Vocovee instead of Vocov if you need real-time vocoding. In addition, Vocovee has a improved built-in synth.

 This effect chops up a fixed loop length of incoming audio into 16 parts and allows you to position each of the parts in any order (with redundancy) and specify the level, pan, and whether each part is reversed. You can really mutate a drum beat or vocal part, or just make a single snare drum reversed and not touch the rest. The best way of understanding the effect is to fiddle with it. |

 yoink is a vst effect best used for live performace. it has an inline sampler that you can grab samples from the current live effect channel. you can then trim the loop, reverse, and process with effects in realtime. the left joystick controls bitrate and pitch, while the right joystick controls delay time and delay feedback. the demo mp3 was a simple beat, processed in realtime. version 1.01 brings the new user interface, as well as some small bug fixes and optimizations. |
