 Phibes electric organ tries to capture the sound of those sweet
sixties organs. It is definitely no Hammond B3 or Vox Continental
but rather some obscure and cheap east-european imitation of
them. It has 9 drawbars with five different tones and, independent
vibrato, tremolo and rotator effects and staccato mode. Even though
Phibes organ is quite simple instrument, it is very CPU-intensive
with over ten oscillators and filters, so be patient and bounce
those tracks :) |

 Calculizer is a plugin aimed at creating digital blips and blops similar to these that Kraftwerk did back in the early 80's in their track Pocket Calculator. The sound is an analog synthesizer with 2 oscilators. To each oscilators there are 2 sliders. One controlling the keyboard range, aka giving atonal results, and the other adds extra pitch to the oscilator. Each oscilator is holding 4 waves:

 A crazy instrument which uses spherical harmonics to modulate the vertices of a sphere. These vertices are then used to generate waveforms for a simplistic additive synthesis engine. Uses opengl to display the modulated spheres (one for every voice). Pretty high cpu usage due to the need to re-calculate 1024 vertices 100 times a second though :-( . |

 Hypercyclic is an LFO-driven MIDI arpeggiator. Two tempo-synced LFOs can be used to modulate various parameters to create interesting rhythmhic effects and chord variations.
The sweetspot for hypercyclic is the narrow border between chaos and regularity. Or, in other words, how to induce a certain pleasant randomness, yet forcing everything to align again on the bar or beat boundaries.
The product is complemented by a groove function for playing slightly off the beat. The groove parameters can also be modulated over time by the LFOs, adding to the rhythmic variation.
The main use for hypercyclic is to generate midi that can be recorded and/or sent to other plugins. However it also features a simple built-in synth for testing purposes.

Both the synth and all the parameters are in one object called a scene. A scene is made up of nodes, these are the objects that do the processing and what you directly manipulate to make, modify or otherwise bend the sound. Processing happens top-down. So the top of the scene is generally where you would have your oscillators, the middle is where you would apply your filters and effects, and the bottom is where you would output the sound.
Instead of using the traditional method of drawing wires manually to create the signal path, Jasuto does this a little differently. Basically each node has a controllable radius and range. The radius is used to set the physical size of the node and the range is used to set the receiving range of the inputs.
The iPhone app and VST versions can communicate with each other over your wi-fi network. When in this mode the app acts like a high resolution multi-touch remote controlling the VST in your host software. You can also sync patches via this method as well, giving you the ability to share them with others or just back them up.
Jasuto is under pretty heavy development, so it will be improving/changing quite often. Feedback will certainly have an influence over the development direction. An AU version will follow.

 micronAU is an audio unit that allows one to fully control and automate the Alesis Micron synthesizer. As anyone who owns one of these synths knows, it can generate some wicked sounds but it can be a real pain to program via its single knob. This audio unit provides an interface through which the entire sound generation engine of the Mircon can be controlled in real time. In addition, all parameter settings are saved when the track/DAW hosting micronAU is saved. When one reloads a track hosting mirconAU, the settings are restored, thus avoiding the "what patch did I use for this track" syndrome. Furthermore, if one's DAW supports automation of plugin parameters, all of the Micron's parameters can be automated and controlled by any of the DAW's supported control surfaces.

 There are two good things (unique in freeware?) about perfecto:
The oscs cross-modulate each other. osc A frequency- or phase- modulates B and vice-versa.
The pitch can be forced to user-scale. with lfos this can create arp effects.
There are two bad things about perfecto:
Frequency modulation uses a LOT of cpu.
The oscs aren't anti-aliased or have other 'improvements' you generally don't hear about as an end-user. the plus side of this is they are quite responsive to modulation.
I made this for analog bleeps and the pitch function is a bonus from hyperion's development (hyperion is an algorithmic midi vsti.. more info in my forum here). |

 This is another "noisebox" synth, similar in attitude to the previous SG-APCX (in that it is designed to be used as a sound effect generator more than a standard synth), but based on a completely different method of sound generation. Based around two sound generators- one that uses a math formula capable of chaotic behavior, and another which is an oscillator-synched noise source. The combination of these two sources produces a wide range of strange sounds, from clicks & beeps to grinding mechanical mayhem. Another interesting feature present in both versions is the "data corruption" effect, which adds another level of chaos to the mix.  Step Machine is midi loop sequencer, in the style of a classic analog step sequencer.
To use it your host must support midi output from vst plugins.
As the host plays, you will see the sequencer run through its loop. Pitch, octave, gate, slide and velocity can all be controlled for each step. Along with this there are two assignable midi CC sequencers.
You will also find a complex randomise function and a force-to-scale function (which can be transposed via incoming midi).

 The idea behind WVM is very simple. You load WVM and inside it, you load your VSTs. Once you extract the presets to FXP files, you can organize those files in any way you want, or download categorized FXP files from our future library of VST FXP files. When a FXP is loaded, it will load the correct VST for it and apply the FXP Preset to the loaded VST.
For instance, you can have one directory full with FXP files that has only BASS sounds. Those files can be from several different VSTs. So when you browse and load each FXP, it will load the correct VST. Making browsing for sounds with multiple VSTs much easier. You can also categorize by mood, style, or any other way you want.
