Well, yes, local links to .pdf or spreadsheet files work well in Zulu. Personaly I use leaner, faster apps like Sumatra for .pdf's and Table Pro for spreads rather than say, Adobe or Excel.

I think importing an extensive, and or, linked excel spreadsheet into Zulu would be a ghastly prospect from several points of view. Not least of which would be the dogs breakfast effect on the ASCII rendered data storage files.

Images are not stored within the .zulu file, so it would be pretty difficult to create a file that was 100MB or 1GB...that would be an awful lot of text. I've been using one main .zulu file for 2.5 years or so, and that file is currently 873 KB. That said, I haven't tried to create a 1GB .zulu file, but I'm not aware of any limitations on file size.

Well, you can copy/paste web links into ZuluPad, and clicking on them will open them up in your default web browser.

I bought the PRO version and have a few questions:

1. will image resizing be available soon? Having to size an image BEFORE importing is a real pain.

2. How big can a Zulu file become? 100mb / 1gb? What if I put 100 images into one page, will it handle it?

3. Drag and drop of web addresses from firefox/explorer? I want to use Zulu for web links storage.

4. import of spreadsheets / checklists?

I think you are right Tom, the links make it kind of 3d spiderwebish. A Raptors nightmare.

A Tag Clod as you describe would in fact be a better representation of a minds useage of topics. The idea is a bit of excessive self-indulgence and just goes to illustrate our ongoing moral decay (I can only speak for myself), but would be fun. A time series of screen shots of the cloud could be instructive.

I wasn't quite able to get Freemind and ZuluPad working nicely and seamlessly together last night but Zulu does make a strikingly useful addition and I'm going to work on it some more. The main problem is that MindMap type progs are slow compared to Zulu on my machines. I will try Eve which is much faster.

Something else I'm going to try is integrating Zulu better with ZGSpro's TablePro, a lightning fast and bombproof dB table application.

I think you can tell from past posts that I'm a minimalist modularist, (after all these years of denouncing ist's of all ilks) and Zulu has sure found its way into my heart as a thought/note module par exelance.

Heh, for a minute there, I thought this was a bug report...that you were actually encountering this in ZuluPad. I wasn't quite sure what could possibly be causing that...

Anyway, I think showing the links between pages would really just look like a big tangles mess, but I have thought of making a tag cloud page though. Pages that are linked to more would show up in a bigger font than pages that aren't...

I'm having a strange happening, bear with me.

I see a page with several topics in large text with a halo of smaller and smaller text size clickable topics (pages) linked to them, receeding into the background. It is a beautiful representation of a minds wanderings over time.

Nothing about it appears GUI, everything is ASCII looking except the links, they look like those long f shaped math symbols.

Wow, what would you call that. It looks a lot like FreeMind (freshmeat) a mind mapping sort of program.

I suppose such a thing might not be possible in ZuluPad for technical reasons.
I wonder if ZuluPad could be somehow incorporated into FreeMind, like as default editor or something?

I believe I'm going to be up late finding out.
